Research shows that the presence of effective mentoring relationships in the lives of early-career scientists is a reliable indicator of career success. Mentoring support is especially important in the laboratory-based sciences, where the tedious nature of bench work and an isolating lab environment can quickly burn-out a new scientists. As a stakeholder in the advancement of neurotrauma medicine, Mission Connect launched the Dr. Raymond J. Grill Excellence through Mentoring Program to advance the skills of trainees, graduate students and post-docs, promote their well-being, and with this, their future success in neurotrauma research.
